Thus, this research analyzes the teacher development program in Kampung Inggris language courses through qualitative studies using interviews with nine teachers from four language courses. Results suggest that teacher development programs in the four language courses can be categorized into skill learning, sharing, and mentoring. Skill learning includes drilling, evaluation, and e-courses while sharing and mentoring involve peer-teacher sharing programs and consultation with CELTA-certified teachers The findings also indicated that teachers still need more teacher development programs that are not yet given by the language courses management. Thus, the study suggests further analysis of this issue and more opportunities for teachers in non-formal language learning programs to develop their teaching skills.
2024-09-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Educenter : Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan https://jurnal.arkainstitute.co.id/index.php/educenter/article/view/1251 Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in realizing quality education at Daarut Tauhiid Boarding School Putri Junior High School 2024-08-14T04:28:04+00:00 Nisa Kurniasih Meldya nisakurniasih@uninus.ac.id Fia Afifah fiaafifah@uninus.ac.id Siti Aidah Marwah sitiaidahmarwah@uninus.ac.id Yunita Yunita yunita@uninus.ac.id Endi Suhendi endi_suhendi@uninus.ac.id
This research is motivated by the fact that there are still several schools that have not been fully able to show efforts in realizing the SDGs goal 4, namely quality education. This quantitative study aimed to explore the mediation of teacher productivity with the instrumentation of in-service training (INSET) while adopting Social Learning Theory (SLT) as the theoretical framework. A descriptive survey research design was adopted while a multi-stage sampling procedure was used to select samples from a population of 7538 public secondary school teachers and 203 principals in secondary schools in Ekiti state, Nigeria. The sample for this study consisted of 396 participants which comprised of 360 teachers and 36 school principals. Data were gathered and analysed through In-service Training Experience and Impact Questionnaire (ITEIQ) and Teachers' Productivity Questionnaire (TPQ) and Pearson Product Moment Correlation respectively. The study revealed that INSET moderately enhances teacher productivity. The study recommends providing continuous and regular in-service training to teachers in Nigeria to improve their productivity. In addition, such training programs could be designed based on the principles of Social Learning Theory through the instrumentation of collaborative learning, peer mentoring, and feedback mechanisms.
2024-09-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Educenter : Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan https://jurnal.arkainstitute.co.id/index.php/educenter/article/view/1264 Analysis of teacher needs for team-based project learning with the SETS approach on alternative energy source materials 2024-08-09T03:10:10+00:00 Asri Nur Lathifah Fauziyyah asrinurf1@upi.edu Ridwan Efendi ridwanefendi@upi.edu Muslim Muslim muslim@upi.edu
Alternative energy sources are one of the materials in physics that are very close to their application in daily life. Awareness of the importance of understanding in the era of rapid technological progress in the concept of alternative energy sources needs to be built with learning that actively involves students, one of which is project-based learning. This study aims to analyze the needs of teachers in the implementation of team-based projects with the Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) approach on alternative energy source materials, in order to train students' creativity. The method used was a questionnaire and interview involving 38 physics teachers. The results show that teachers need learning that integrates team-based projects with the SETS approach because only 50% of teachers have used project-based learning on alternative energy sources. In addition, 89% of teachers face various obstacles in the implementation of project-based learning, including inadequate time allocation, low critical thinking of students, and poor teacher planning. Based on these findings, it is suggested that there is a need for more comprehensive teacher learning innovations and the preparation of more structured teaching modules. In addition, support from the school in terms of facilities and time management is needed to maximize the effectiveness of team-based project learning with the SETS approach. This effort is expected to improve the quality of learning and students' creativity in understanding alternative energy source materials.
2024-09-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Educenter : Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan https://jurnal.arkainstitute.co.id/index.php/educenter/article/view/1170 Sexual behaviours and contraceptive usage among Nigerian undergraduates: Moderating effects of course of study and school type 2024-05-20T02:43:38+00:00 Tosin. We used Empiricism to explore the authentic practices used in the transformational processes exposed to 3rd and 4th year mathematics and science student teachers. We emphasized three important constructs that guide the scholarship of teaching, namely standards of excellence, virtues and values to guide IK integration in the curriculum. We conclude that student teachers understood the meaning and importance of IK. However, the teacher preparation curriculum did not include aspects related to IK, it was left at their own discretion to adopt. We recommend appropriate strategies for adoption to implement and guide the required standards and values for curriculum development.
2024-09-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Educenter : Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan
